The German Jagdpanzer 38 "Hetzer" self-propelled gun was built on the chassis of the obsolete Czechoslovakian-made Pz.Kpfw.38 light tank and entered service in 1944. Due to its compact silhouette, maneuverability, and good protection, the "Hetzer" self-propelled gun became a dangerous opponent for Soviet and Allied tanks in the final stages of World War II.
